I'm Steven Pietsch

My last name is pronounced Peach, like the fruit. I am a Texas-based artist, born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, where my family has been for over a century. I spent much of my youth in the beautiful mountain town of Ruidoso in Lincoln County, New Mexico – home of the Mescalero Apache Tribe and Billy the Kid and where the Sierra Blanca Mountain watches over everything. 

I spent my college years in the desert city of Las Cruces in southern New Mexico. I give you this detail because I consider myself blessed to be from two of the most beautiful, culturally diverse, and unique states in the U.S. Places that have inspired artists from around the world. 

While I began painting prolifically later in life, I come from a long line of artists. The subjects I choose to paint are my artistic interpretation of the magnificent surroundings I have absorbed throughout my life, the flashes of imagination I’ve had, and a bit of my sense of humor. My sincere hope is that my painting will bring you some joy, inspiration, and curiosity or at least bring a smile to your face and/or heart.
